Recipe for Dry Fruit Rawa Sheera

Rawa sheera is a commonly made dessert in households on various pious occasions. Here is a regular rawa sheera recipe enriched with the goodness of dry fruits. Its not only delicious but also easy to make.

INGREDIENTS

  • ½ Cup Semolina (Rawa)
  • 1 Cup Milk (Doodh)
  • ¾ Cup Sugar (Shakar)
  • 2 Tablespoons Almonds (Badam) (slivers)
  • 2 Tablespoons Cashwenuts (chopped)
  • 2 Tablespoons Raisins (chopped)
  • Saffron (a few strands dissolved in 2 tbsp milk)
  • 2 Tablespoons Ghee

METHOD

  1. Heat 1 tsp ghee in a deep non-stick pan. Roast the cashews, almonds and semolina till it turns light brown in colour.
  2. Boil 1 cup milk with 1/2 cup water in another pan. Stir in the boiled milk with the roasted semolina.
  3. Cook for 2 minutes, add the raisins and sugar. Cook on a medium flame for 4 - 5 minutes or till the sheera becomes thick and starts to leave the sides of the pan.
  4. Add the saffron and milk mixture, mix well and serve.
