Recipe for Sweet Corn Chowder

  • 1 Piece Cream Style Corn (Tinned)
  • ½ Cup Green Capsicum (Shimla Mirch) (finely chopped)
  • ½ Cup Onions (Pyaaz)
  • ½ Cup French Beans (फ्रेंच बीन्स) (chopped and boiled)
  • 1 Tablespoon Corn flour (dissolved in 2 tbsp of water)
  • 1 Teaspoon Green Chillies (finely chopped)
  • 2 Teaspoons Oil
  • Salt to taste
  • ½ Cup Carrots (finely chopped and boiled)
  • Pepper to taste


  1. Heat oil in a deep non-stick pan, add the green chillies and saute.
  2. Add the onions and capsicum, mix well and cook on a medium flame for 1 - 2 minutes.
  3. Add the french beans and carrots, mix well and cook on a medium flame for 2 minutes.
  4. Add the the entire tin of corn and 6 cups of water, mix well and cook on a medium flame for 1 - 2 minutes.
  5. Add the cornflour-water mixture, salt and pepper. Mix well, bring it to a boil and simmer on a low flame till the vegetables are cooked and soup thickens.
  6. Serve hot.
