Recipe for Sabudana wada

Sabudana Wada is a very easy and delicious recipe especially during the fasting period. A perfect treat during fasting days!

INGREDIENTS

  • 1½ Cups Sago (Sabudana) (Soaked for two hours)
  • 3 Pieces Potatoes (Boiled, peeled and mashed)
  • 1 Cup Peanuts (Moongfali) (Roasted and coarsely grounded)
  • 3 Pieces Green Chillies (Hari Mirch) (Finely chopped)
  • 2 Tablespoons Coriander Leaves (Chopped)
  • 1 Tablespoon Lemon juice
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil For deep frying

METHOD

  1. Soak the sabudana in enough water for about two hours. Drain off excess water and keep aside.
  2. Combine sabudana, potatoes, peanuts, green chillies, coriander leaves, lemon juice and salt in a deep bowl and mix well.
  3. Divide the mixture into sixteen lemon sized balls, flatten between palms of your hands.
  4. Heat sufficient oil in a kadai and deep fry vadas in hot oil till thry turn golden brown in colour.
  5. Drain on absorbent paper. Serve hot with chutney of your choice.
